Introduction

RQ Search and View is a simple utilite used to search and view text in files for Microsoft Windows 98/XP.
File formats supported are text files with Windows, Rich Text Format (RTF), HTML (web pages).
You shouldn't create index files before searching and waiting search finishing to view found files.
When first file found - you can view and edit it in build-in editor.
The search data can be saved to disk and retrieved  later.

How to use

1. Input search phrase in search editor.

2. Specify folders for search .
Use Choose folders menu item or folder button (top left corner)
In opened window choose folders and add it to list.
Processed folders in list must be checked. You can uncheck unused folder without deleting it from list.
If you check folder - it's subfolders will  be included also.
To check separate subfolder in list - unchek folder before.



3. Specify file masks or choose it from dropdown list.
In nonregistered version only one file mask will be processed.

4. Press Go button to start search.

5. Click  on  found file in file list (left panel) and view it in editor (right panel)
To navigate use button - Next file, Next hit, Previous hit, Previous file.

You can stop file search in any time using Stop button.

6. You can save found file list and load it again. If some files was deleted you can refresh file list, using Verify file list menu item.

7. You can open string list window and view hit lines only.

Set search folders   Verify file list for non-existing files after file list loading.

Save settings - save settings in RQAS.ini file.
You can edit this file and change excluded file masks.

Now excluded file extensions are *.gif *.jpg, *.bmp, *.pcx, *.png, *.ico, *.exe, *.com, *.dll,*.bin, *.obj, *.zip, *.rar,*.arj, *.cab, *.pak, *.chm, *.dbx, ico, mp3, mpeg

In next versions settings editor will be added.
